Recap, resources and support

What we've just learned

  • Try to keep your marketing plan around 10 pages long at the most.
  • Don’t use ‘planning’ to put off ‘doing’.
  • Give yourself permission to work on your business instead of in it. Don’t see this as taking time away from work, this IS work.
  • Create time to make everything happen.  What would you achieve with an extra couple of days a week?  An early alarm is all you need to give you that.
  • You can make the time to do the things you need to do to make your business successful, or don’t and just stay exactly where you are now.  The decision is yours.
  • Create a minimum viable product (MVP) to prove that your idea works first.
  • Getting things perfect is not a task for the early days of your business.  Perfection is for when you are already successful and you have the luxury of spending time getting even better.
  • Always test first.  Learn from your early engagement with customers to work out what is working and what isn’t.
  • Having a marketing plan is like having a gym membership.  It only works if you do it and keep to it.
  • Work on your motivation daily, find a mentor or get a friend to mentally support you.
  • Have patience and tenacity.  Record your key metrics so you can compare month on month and year on year to see your progress.
  • Use your tribe and find the success stories to keep you motivated.
  • Remember why we’re doing this.  Help us move towards a vegan world.
