Recap, resources and support

What we've just learned

  • When faced with lots of ideas you can either end up doing none, or try to do them all.  Neither will get you anywhere fast.
  • Let your customer research lead which activities you are going to do.
  • Test and check an activity works before you spend a lot of money on doing it.  Make videos on your phone and judge the response before buying a 4k camera.
  • Map out your final ‘marketing mix’ of activities in a visual way.  Use flip charts, sticky notes or a whiteboard.
  • Stick to your plan.  Don’t start on new ideas until you have completed the ones you have already committed to doing.
  • Who can you collaborate with to make your product reach a larger audience?

Thanks so much for showing the marketing brainstorm diagram. I found that incredibly helpful and used it as an example to follow to make my own. Having my thoughts about marketing my business down on a piece of paper very simply like that really has helped me see the big picture of what needs to be done and how activities relate to each other. Thanks!
