In the main section of this course we looked at all the different things that you could do to promote your company. We looked at what channels you could use, from social media to magazine advertising, to even getting yourself on a stage in a room full of people. Your notebook should now be full of notes and ideas; but no matter how much energy and enthusiasm you have (and I know you have loads) there is only so much you can do at once. The problem when faced with so many options is that you can end up doing one of two things: you either freeze, because doing all that looks like a lot of work and you don’t know where to start; or you try to do them all and end up finishing none. Both options will lead you to the same place, and it’s not one that’s glowing in success.
Fortunately however, we’ve already spent time creating our customer profile sheets. And because we’ve become best friends with our customers and know them inside out, we’ve already got a really good idea of which channels our customers are going to be interacting with. So, the first thing we’re going to do is use this knowledge to cross off the ideas from our list that don’t match where our customers are watching and listening, and prioritise the ideas where we know that they are.
