Getting into your first retailers is a major milestone for your business, but one that many plant-based brands struggle to reach.
Vegan Business Tribe are once again hosting our ‘Battle of the Brands’ competition to award ONE FREE PLACE (worth £2,000) to veg-net 2025, a day-long industry event you will get 10 pre-arranged meetings with key retail buyers from the UK and Europe who are looking for new, healthier, plant-based food and drink products.
Your entry will be judged by a panel of industry experts, including:
- Joe Hill, founder of One Planet Pizza
- Mirrin Lewis, The Vegan Society Trademark
- Chris Kong, co-founder of Better Nature Tempeh
- Keith Lesser, owner of Vegan Accountants
WIth our live head-to-head final hosted by David Pannell, founder of Vegan Business Tribe. All finalists will also win a free coaching session with one of our expert judges above.
What do you win?
- The overall winner will win one free delegate space at the veg-net 2025 event PLUS a free coaching session with one of the expert judges listed above
- Two runners-up will be offered a half-price place at the veg-net event and a free coaching session with one of the expert judges
- All brands who submit an entry video will be offered 'early bird' prices to attend the event
Do you qualify?
- You sell a food or beverage product suitable for general retail
- Your product is ready (or almost ready) to supply into retailers - you might even already supply some
- You are available to travel to London Stansted on the 4th June 2025 for the veg-net event
- You are available for our live online final on the 18th March 2025 (on Zoom time TBC)
- Special consideration is given to brands focused on a healthier alternative
How do you apply?
Application is made by filling out the form below to secure entry and then submitting a maximum 60-second video by the 3rd March 2025 telling us about your product and why you deserve the free place at veg-net to pitch to the retail buyers.
We will then select three entries to go through to our live ‘Battle of the Brands’ final on Zoom on 18th March 2025. Here you will get to pitch to our panel of expert judges who will award the free place to the brand that impresses them the most.
Runners-up will receive half-price tickets and all finalists will receive a free hour-long online coaching session with one of our expert judges.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
You don’t need to be a member of Vegan Business Tribe to enter and your video absolutely doesn’t need to be professionally produced!
If I don't win, can I still attend veg-net?
Yes, you can register as a paid attendee. Places are limited, so if you want to secure your seat at veg-net, you can buy a ticket but still enter our competition and your ticket price will be refunded in full if you win.
I make a plant-based product but myself or the company are not vegan, can I still enter?
Yes – we will be judging you specifically on your amazing plant-based product.
