We (Lisa & David) founded Vegan Business Tribe because we don’t understand why a vegan business should be the one that has to carry a label. Why should we have to point out that our companies don’t cause cruelty or harm to animals? It should be the companies that do cause harm to animals that have to carry a warning label.
And the only way we’re going to get to that point is to make vegan business the new normal. We need to scale up those already running a vegan business to have a much bigger impact, because it’s not enough just to run a vegan business. You need to run a successful vegan business if you’re ever going to help us move towards a vegan world.
And we’ve created a community full of amazing vegan business owners across the world at Vegan Business Tribe who are helping each other do just that.
We set out with the goal to help as many vegan businesses as possible with our knowledge and raw enthusiasm for the vegan business scene, which is why want to make our content available to as many people as possible.
However, many companies want to support our mission, which is why we also have our member and patron tiers to fund the work we do. In return, we give these members access to our wider community and extra events and support.
Yes you can! All members get a welcome session with Lisa and David so that we can get to know you and find out more about your business, and you’ll be able to meet a few fellow new members there too!
All patrons get a welcome 1-2-1 session for 1 hour with Lisa & David so that we can find out more about your business, work out what synergies we have and how we will be able to give you extra visibility to our members.
For ongoing support, as a member or patron you can ask Lisa and David for their support in our Slack community hub, our forums or you can join our live business clinics to talk about your business with Lisa & David in a small group.
We define a ‘vegan business’ as a business that is owned by vegans and run on vegan ethics, selling a product or service that is free from animal ingredients and does not does not harm animals in any way.
We also have a lot of members with vegan businesses but don’t lead with the vegan message at all – so most consumers would never know they are supporting cruelty-free! We love a bit of vegan by stealth…
Vegan Business Tribe is a support community for vegan businesses – so as you would expect, nearly all our members are vegan.
We do welcome members who have a vegan business and are on the way to becoming vegan themselves. Often having the support of other vegans around you will help you take that final step!
If you are not vegan yourself (and have no interest in being so) then we would ask you to think about your motivation for wanting to join a vegan business support group. If you are not vegan but think that Vegan Business Tribe might be a good place for you to find vegan customers then we would instead suggest talking to Lisa and David through their consultancy Promote Vegan which helps companies engage with vegan consumers and understand the vegan marketplace better.
Because we are based in the UK, many of our members are European – but we also have members from New Zealand, Japan, Canada, the USA, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and many other countries!
However, we like to say it is our veganism that brings us all together as business owners rather than our geography, so we have events that cover all time zones.
Not at all! Vegan Business Tribe is run by a couple (Lisa & David) and a number of our members are the same. If you run your business with a partner, friend or family member then you are welcome to join all our live events, business clinics and networking events as a twosome!
That’s great, we’d love to have you with us! To upgrade from our fan tier to become a member or patron (or upgrade from a member to a patron), just go to your account settings when you’re logged in.
Not at all! You can cancel your account at any time.
You can control all your account settings, including cancelling your membership at any time yourself, from your membership dashboard when you’re logged in to the site. Just click on ‘Account settings’ on the member’s dashboard and you can cancel your account directly there.
Note: if you cancel your membership it will remain active (ie you will still have full access) until your next monthly renewal date, at which stage you will be downgraded automatically to the fan tier. If you instead choose to ‘change plan’ to the fan tier then your membership will be instantly downgraded to the fan tier, meaning you will not have membership access or a member directory entry from that moment.

Yes, just go to your member’s dashboard (visible once signed in) and click on ‘account settings’. Under the ‘payments’ menu option you can download an invoice for each month.

We certainly do! We have a full directory of all Vegan Business Tribe members and patrons on the member’s dashboard page when you’re logged in to our website. Our members directory is viewable to all members and patrons.
We add each new member and patron to this directory shortly after you sign up or upgrade to the membership or patron tiers.
Our Community Hub on Slack is where our members and patrons talk to each other, ask for help and support and shout about their wins. It’s also where you have direct access to our founders Lisa & David, and it’s where a great deal of the activity at Vegan Business Tribe happens!

Absolutely! We have a number of members who don’t yet have a vegan business but either have an idea for one or are heading in that direction. They find it really useful to surround themselves with vegan entrepreneurs to stimulate their passion and ideas!
We cover funding extensively in our content and have interviewed a number of experts and investors about funding a vegan business for our members. We have even run our own crowdfunding programme for members in our Academy section!
If funding is your biggest question at the moment then talk to us about this in your welcome session as a member and we will signpost you to lots of information for where to start.
Live events are accessible to all our members and patrons. Just log in, head over to the events page, select your event and click the calendar link to book.
You will receive a Zoom link (and reminders before the event) after you book. If you would like text reminders, remember to add your mobile number!
If you’ve booked on to one of our live events and then realise you can’t make it then there’s a cancellation link in the original email confirmation you received when you booked your place. Please click the cancellation link in that email (or in any reminder emails about that live event) to cancel your place.
If you can’t find the email, just search for anything you’ve received from ‘firstname.lastname@example.org’ which is the email address all our confirmation and reminder emails are sent from for our live events.

We regularly interview members for both the website and our monthly business feature we write in Vegan Food & Living Magazine.
However, we look to highlight the best of vegan business. That does not mean the biggest or even most successful, but those who are TRULY REMARKABLE. If you have a specialist skill that you think other members would benefit from learning about, or have an amazing story to tell – or if you think we’ve never seen a vegan business like yours before – then please let us know at our initial 1-2-1 chat as a member or patron.

We love our members suggesting new topics for us to cover and regularly ask in our Slack group what people want to see. Do feel free to share your idea for a topic in our Slack group.
Our weekly podcast is a solo / instructional show so we don’t book guests. When we do feature people on the podcast they are usually our Vegan Business Tribe members.
